We are a hyperlocal nonprofit dedicated to food justice and building connections within the Hopewell community.

The Chubby’s Project is a hyperlocal nonprofit dedicated to food justice and building connections within the Hopewell community.  Through our lunch program and food pantry, The Project aims to nourish the community’s mind, body, and spirit by creating a full circle of connection between recipients, volunteers, donors, and food service workers.

Who We Are

What We Do

The Chubby’s Project’s signature effort is a lunch program through which we deliver hot meals and groceries three days a week to neighbors in need.

Why We Help

As our programs demonstrate, creating connections at all levels is central to our mission.

Our Impact

“Thank you for the food today.  We are able to spend very little on food with your help and this is helping us keep the heat on.”

“Thank you for all you have done for me!  You are an amazing group of people who spread joy and hope!”

“If not for your generosity, care, and kindness we don’t know what we would have done.  Words can’t express how we feel.”

Huge gratitude to our D&R Greenway sharing gardeners who have donated over 900 pounds of fresh produce this year! And to everyone who helps- whether you donate time, money, produce, or food for the pantry- we couldn't do it without you.  Thank you!

What We Need

Our most immediate need is for funds and volunteers to help continue our programs.

We are fundraising in the community, and have received phenomenal support . Grants are also an integral part of our funding structure; building relationships with local foundations means that we can move forward with greater fiscal security and a wider network of support.
