The Chubby’s Project builds and strengthens community connections in Hopewell Borough and surrounding areas to support residents in need.

The Chubby’s Project is a non-profit organization that builds and strengthens community connections in Hopewell Borough and surrounding areas.

Through our lunch program, soup delivery, and pantry, we engage volunteers, local businesses, community partners, farmers, and donors to support our neighbors in need in and around Hopewell Borough.

Who We Are

What We Do

More than a food bank or a meal delivery service, The Chubby’s Project delivers LOVE by cooking, packing, and delivering healthy meals and locally-sourced produce - three days a week, 52 weeks a year.

In addition to meals, our volunteers also share time to check on the concerns, joys and needs of our neighbors.  Services at a glance include:

  • Fresh meals and produce packed and delivered three days each week, along four routes across the Hopewell Valley, by 30 dedicated volunteers

  • Soup and bread delivered a fourth day to our most homebound neighbors

  • 24/7 open access pantry of shelf stable goods, canned goods and personal products, restocked daily by volunteers

  • Pop-up community food pantry days with local farmers and food providers

  • Access to local resources for emergency house repairs

  • Rides, resources and liaison to services for special family needs

  • School programs and community events to raise awareness of food insecurity

Our Families

Our families are our neighbors - an aging widow in need of a visit; a friend experiencing an unexpected illness; a colleague with young children who is temporarily between jobs;  a veteran who lives alone.

The Chubby’s Project lends a gentle hand and loving heart while they get back on their feet. Families are referred to The Project by a variety of sources including local churches, healthcare providers and neighbors.

Our Impact

“If not for your generosity, care, and kindness we don’t know what we would have done.  Words can’t express how we feel.”

“…Living in a community that wraps its arms around a family in need is a gift that we will never forget.”

“Your kindness touches more lives than you could ever know.”

What We Need

Volunteers!

Key needs include volunteers to help pack and deliver (drive) meals, social media, light bookkeeping, and event coordination
